Former Builsa DCE questions operations of 24-Hour economy secretariat

According to him, it is surprising that the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat appears to be operating only within the normal eight-hour working schedule instead of around the clock as the policy suggests.

Former District Chief Executive for Builsa South and NPP Upper East Regional Secretary hopeful Daniel Kwame Gariba has questioned the operations of the government’s 24-hour economy initiative, describing it as inconsistent with its stated objective.

According to him, it is surprising that the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat appears to be operating only within the normal eight-hour working schedule instead of around the clock as the policy suggests.

In a Facebook post, Gariba argued that if the secretariat responsible for coordinating the policy is not functioning on a 24-hour basis, it raises concerns about the seriousness of the initiative.

He further criticized what he described as unfulfilled promises, claiming that the situation reflects a pattern of policies that are not fully implemented.

The former DCE also raised concerns about the automatic posting of nurses and teachers, noting that the issue remains on his mind as the government continues to address challenges in the public sector workforce.

Gariba urged the government to ensure transparency and consistency in the implementation of policies to maintain public confidence.
