Georgina Ayamba eyes history as first female Upper East NPP First Vice Chairperson
Incumbent Regional Women's Organiser seeks to break a long-standing barrier by becoming the first woman to serve as Upper East NPP First Vice Chairperson.
Incumbent Upper East Regional Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Georgina Ayamba, has officially filed her nomination to contest for the position of Upper East Regional First Vice Chairperson, setting her sights on becoming the first woman in the history of the party in the region to occupy the office.
Ayamba picked and filed her nomination on Tuesday, July 15, 2026, marking a significant milestone in her political journey and underscoring her commitment to advancing inclusive leadership within the NPP.
A seasoned party executive, Ayamba is currently serving her second consecutive term as the Upper East Regional Women’s Organiser, having previously served as the Deputy Regional Women’s Organiser.
Speaking in a Media Interview, Ayamba said over the years, she has distinguished herself through dedicated service, effective grassroots mobilisation, and unwavering commitment to the growth of the New Patriotic Party across the region.
“My leadership has been instrumental in empowering women within the party, expanding grassroots structures, and fostering unity among party members.”
“I believe I can harness the experience gained over the years to serve as First Vice Chairperson,” She added.
The NPP Regional Executive Elections scheduled for August 15, are expected to usher in a new crop of regional executives who will steer the affairs of the party over the next four years as part of its recent party reorganisation efforts.
