Kassena-Nankana West DCE pledges assembly support to lobby for Nabango SHTS boarding status
The District Chief Executive says securing boarding status for the school will attract more infrastructure development, improve enrollment, and help transform it into a top-tier institution in the district.
The Kassena-Nankana West District Chief Executive, Stephen Aeke Akurugo has pledged that the Kassena-Nankana West District Assembly will lobby to upgrade the Nabango Senior High Technical School into a boarding status as part of efforts to improve infrastructure and academic standards.
Speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony for a classroom block at the school on Wednesday, April 15, Akurugo described calls for boarding status as legitimate and necessary to enhance the school’s growth.
“Pushing for boarding status for Nabango Senior High Technical School is very valid, and it is for us as duty bearers to put our hands-on deck to ensure that this is achieved,” he stated.
According to him, granting the school boarding status will serve as a catalyst for further development, helping to attract more infrastructure and improve student enrollment.
“If we get boarding status, all the other infrastructural projects that we are looking for will definitely fall in place.” He emphasized.
Aeke noted that the Assembly, together with other stakeholders, remains committed to lobbying for the upgrade, as part of a broader plan to transform the school into a top-tier institution in the district.
“We will continue to lobby to make Nabango Senior High Technical School a formidable one, a Category A school in the district.” He added.
The intervention forms part of ongoing projects funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund to address infrastructure challenges in schools across the country.
