Navrongo MP pushes for medical school and upgrading of War Memorial Hospital

Speaking on Timalgo Sosega on Mike FM on Tuesday, June 17, the MP revealed that he is actively working with key stakeholders to facilitate the establishment of a Medical School at the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS).

Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central, Simon Akibange Aworigo, has announced a series of development initiatives aimed at transforming key sectors in the constituency, with a focus on healthcare, education, water, agriculture, among others.

Speaking on Timalgo Sosega on Mike FM on Tuesday, June 17, the MP revealed that he is actively working with key stakeholders to facilitate the establishment of a Medical School at the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS).

“The establishment of a medical school at CKT-UTAS is a major priority, and I’m working with all relevant partners to make this vision a reality,” Aworigo stated in Kasem, underscoring his commitment to addressing the health needs of the people.

In a related effort, Aworigo disclosed ongoing collaboration with the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service to upgrade the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo into a more modern and better-equipped health facility.

On agriculture, the MP revealed that he is working closely with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to expedite the establishment of an Farmer Service Centre in the constituency to provide support and technical services to farmers.

He further assured that plans were far advanced to secure fertilizers and other farm inputs to support farmers to help improve food production and livelihoods in the farming communities.

“It is not everyone who likes to go to school, others want to go into farming. I’m committed to supporting our farmers by ensuring they get the necessary inputs on time,” he said.

Simon Akibange Aworigo reaffirmed his dedication to the development of Navrongo Central and called on residents to continue supporting his vision for a more prosperous constituency.

He added that his broader development agenda for the constituency extends beyond health, covering critical areas such as education, access to potable drinking water, and agriculture.

Meanwhile, the MP has expressed appreciation to constituents and party members for their support in the successful confirmation of Faustina Akeyom Abulu as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area. He described the confirmation as a step in the right direction for strengthening local governance and service delivery.
