The donation, which included 240 pieces of toothpaste, 240 pieces of toothbrushes, and used second-hand clothes, forms part of his regular outreach to prisons, was presented during a visit to the inmates on Friday, September 26.

The outgoing District Pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church in Navrongo, Reverend Prince Asare, has donated oral hygiene products and clothing valued at 10,000 Ghana cedis to inmates of the Navrongo Central Prison.

The donation, which included 240 pieces of toothpaste, 240 pieces of toothbrushes, and used second-hand clothes, forms part of his regular outreach to prisons, was presented during a visit to the inmates on Friday, September 26.

Speaking to Mike FM after the exercise, Rev. Asare described the gesture as an expression of God’s love and blessings for the inmates.

“I’ve been here for the past four years, and this will be the 11th time I’m making this donation, this life is not always about what we have, but what we do to help others, so when I came here four years ago, the Lord put it on my heart that periodically I use my personal resources at times I appeal to other individuals. He said.

The clergyman urged the prisoners to reflect on their lives and embrace positive change so they can reintegrate successfully into society after their release.

“I’m appealing to all of them to propagate the good news and lead an exemplary life for the youth to emulate. And even tell them that they should lead a good life so that they will not be found in this situation because it is not an easy situation.” He added.

Rev. Asare also took the opportunity to thank individuals and groups who have supported his prison ministry over the past four years, noting that their contributions had made the outreach possible.

Deputy Superintendent of Prisons (DSP) Sapak Daniel, Officer in Charge of Welfare and Aquaculture at the Navrongo Central Prison, received the donation on behalf of the Prisons Chaplain.

He expressed gratitude to Rev. Asare for his continuous support, stressing that such donations go a long way to improve the welfare of inmates.

“Throughout his four-year stay in Navarongo, he makes time to come to share the word of God with the inmates and as well as officers. And through the spread of the gospel in the yard, some of the inmates have grown spiritually.”

“Reverend Prince Asare is winning souls both outside and even in the prison. Apart from sharing the word of God with the inmates, he also makes time to appeal to philanthropists to come to our aid.” DSP Sapak said.

He also appealed to individuals, churches, and organizations to support the prison’s farm project at Kologo, which helps supplement the feeding of inmates.
