Dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Jr, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has officially retracted and apologized for a series of controversial statements made against his former manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog.
In a statement, Shatta Wale clarified that the comments made on November 2, 2022, suggesting Bulldog had confessed to being involved in the murder of Fennec Okyere were misunderstood and misconstrued.
The apology acknowledged that the initial publications also contained remarks that implied immoral or improper social conduct by Bulldog and other prominent public figures.
“I have now come to know that the statement was generally misunderstood or misconstrued as Mr. Hanson’s confessions to me that he had a hand in the murder of Fennec Okyere (alias Fenicks),” the statement read.
“I wish to retract each of the statements in the said series of publications, as I did not mean to say that Mr. Hanson had a hand in the murder.” The statement continued.
Shatta Wale further rendered an apology to others who may have been affected by the publications, acknowledging the emotional and reputational harm caused.
“I also wish to apologise to Mr. Hanson and all the persons whom my publications of November 2, 2022, have caused pain, agony, anguish, shame, ridicule, or hatred,” the statement continued.
