Vivian Akangi calls for collaboration to achieve academic excellence

Akangi stressed that adapting the school's values and focus requires a united front from all who have a stake in the institution’s success.

The Assistant Head of Awe Senior High Technical School in the Kasena-Nanaka Municipality, Vivian Akangi, has called for stronger collaboration among key stakeholders drive academic excellence in the school.

Speaking on the theme “Recalibrating our school to take its rightful position in academic excellence: the role of the alumni, PTA, and other stakeholders in education”, Akangi emphasised that meaningful progress can only be achieved through collective effort

“Stakeholders, therefore, play a major role by contributing to the success of our educational institution by providing information, opportunities, and ultimately shaping the learning environment and students’ learning outcomes,” she stated.

Akangi stressed that adapting the school’s values and focus requires a united front from all who have a stake in the institution’s success.

In his remarks, the Headmaster of the school, Augustine Atanga, echoed her sentiments and urged all stakeholders to work together to overcome the pressing challenges facing the school.

He outlined some of the key issues affecting the institution, including a lack of desks, classrooms, ICT laboratories, and a molding library. Additionally, the school faces inadequate dormitories, a dining hall, and kitchen facilities. Atanga also expressed concern over growing student indiscipline, citing cases involving offensive weapons, mobile phones, and drug use.

“By working together, I believe that the institution can overcome its challenges and achieve academic excellence. The importance of stakeholders taking an active role in resolving the riddle of academic excellence,” he said.

Atanga also expressed appreciation to the Overlord of the Navrongo Traditional Area, Pe Dennis Asagpaare Aneakwoa Balinia II, for his continued support, and acknowledged the contributions of alumni. He encouraged other past students and well-wishers to come forward and support the school’s development.
