2025 mid-year budget reflects Mahama’s reset agenda – Monica Bakiva

Monica Bakiva, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Regional Communications Team, has commended President John Mahama and the NDC government for what she describes as a well-delivered 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Monday July 28, Bakiva praised the presentation made to Parliament on July 24, describing it as refreshing and satisfying.

“For the first time in eight years, I listened to a budget that was truly pleasing. At least we didn’t have a minister showing up in white robes quoting Bible verses. The Finance Minister got straight to the point and delivered exactly what Ghanaians were expecting to hear.” She said.

Bakiva credited the NDC government and President Mahama for the economic progress made in just seven months in office, while criticising the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for attempting to claim credit.

“We’ve seen how President Mahama and the NDC have begun turning things around within a short period. Yet, our opponents continue to ask what we’ve done, claiming it’s the legacy of Dr. Bawumia, which is simply laughable.”

“Here’s a man who had eight years to fix the economy but failed. He was hailed as an economic wizkid yet made no significant impact. Now that he’s out of office, suddenly it’s his legacy?” She questioned

According to Bakiva, the overwhelming support for President Mahama’s administration is a reflection of Ghanaians’ confidence in his economic vision and direction.
