Builsa North MP promises rewards for outstanding BECE candidates

The initiative, which includes mock examinations funded by the MP, aims to assess students’ readiness for the BECE while motivating candidates with rewards for outstanding performance.

The Member of Parliament for Builsa North, James Agalga, has toured several Junior High Schools (JHS) across the constituency to monitor an ongoing mock examination designed to prepare candidates for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The mock exams is being financed through the MP’s Special Projects Account at a cost exceeding GH¢42,000.

The exams which is undertaken by both public and private schools final year JHS students is aimed at assessing students’ readiness and improving their performance ahead of the final examinations.

During the tour, Agalga interacted with both candidates and invigilators, urging students to take the mock exams seriously as a crucial step toward success in the BECE.

The lawmaker said the monitoring forms part of efforts to ensure the smooth conduct of the exams while also evaluating the preparedness of candidates. He encouraged students to use the mock as a diagnostic tool to identify their weaknesses and work on them before the final exams.

He further assured candidates that those who excel and obtain distinctions in the BECE will receive special awards, noting that the incentive is intended to motivate academic excellence and reward hard work.

According to him, the initiative reflects his broader commitment to promoting quality education in the constituency.

The MP also emphasised the importance of discipline, focus, and consistent preparation, urging candidates to make the most of the opportunity provided.

Agalga was accompanied on the tour by the Municipal Chief Executive, Solomon Akogti, as well as key constituency executives, including Chairman James Achaab, Secretary Emmanuel Ayamboliba, and Communications Officer Kennedy Gariba.

Teachers and school authorities have praised the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful in boosting students’ confidence and performance ahead of the BECE.
