Builsa North MP tours constituency to assess stalled electricity projects
Agalga inspects long-stalled electrification projects across Builsa North, as efforts begin to revive works and expand power access to underserved communities.
The Member of Parliament for Builsa North, James Agalga, has embarked on a tour of his constituency to assess the state of stalled electricity projects and identify new communities for rural electrification.
On Friday, the MP, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Energy, the project engineer, the contractor, and constituency executivesvisited several communities in Chuchuliga, Wiaga, and the Kadema zone. As part of the exercise, work was restarted in some of these communities during the visit.
During the tour, the team inspected designated locations where electricity poles and other materials will be stored for distribution across the municipality.
They also examined a number of abandoned electrification projects, which were initiated between 2014 and 2015 but have remained incomplete for over eight years.

According to the MP, the visit aimed to gain first-hand insight into the current condition of these projects, many of which began under the previous NDC administration but stalled over the years.
This assessment, he noted, will inform efforts to revive and complete them for the benefit of the affected communities.
The tour also provided an opportunity for the team to evaluate additional communities for inclusion in the ongoing rural electrification program.
Addressing residents during the visits, the MP reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the constituency.
He emphasized that improving access to electricity remains a key priority, alongside investments in roads, healthcare, and education.
Residents in the affected communities expressed optimism that this renewed attention would lead to the completion of the projects and improve living conditions across the municipality.
