Kacstone Record’s supports Nakolo–Kaporinia Community electricity initiative
The donation forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), aimed at encouraging community-led initiatives that promote positive social change.
Management of music record label and event logistics company, Kacstone Record’s, has supported a community-initiated electricity project by residents of Nakolo-Kaporinia in the Kassena West District.
The donation forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), aimed at encouraging community-led initiatives that promote positive social change.
During a brief presentation in the community on Sunday, March 9, 2026, Kacstone Record’s presented a cash donation of six thousand Ghana cedis and later pledged an additional 2,800 cedis, bringing the total support to 8,800 cedis to aid the initiative.
The project, led by community members, began over a decade ago and seeks to extend electricity from the central part of Nakolo to Kaporinia to support daily activities and promote investment in electric-powered mechanised agriculture.

Thomas Bugase, a resident of the community, said the initiative, which started in 2012, is aimed at improving the living conditions of residents and providing an alternative source of livelihood through irrigation farming.
“We started organising ourselves in 2012, we have seen that since we rely on dry season farming we should extend electricity to the area.” He said
Bu

gase said that for over a decade the community has progressed steadily due to the collective contributions of members and support from well-wishers.
Making the presentation on behalf of the management of Kacstone Record’s, Raymond Adda said the intervention was inspired by the commitment of community members to bring about positive change in their society.
“Since it’s about electricity management of Kacstone Record’s believe this is a need and that why we have decided to support the community because it will help their livelihoods.” Adda said

The Assembly Member for the Nakolo Traditional Area, Michael Asagewe, said that as a farming community, electrification would help promote agriculture and reduce the migration of youth to southern Ghana to engage in illegal mining, which poses a danger to their lives and the environment.
“During dry season most of the youth leave to the south to find their daily bread, and mostly the preferable area is the mining areas, and we know the consequences, we believe that if we have light in the community most of the youth will stay in the community during the dry season through irrigation.” He said

The Divisional Chief of Nakolo, Pe Gedeon Aloah, expressed gratitude to the management of Kacstone Record’s for the donation, noting the potential of electricity in the area to drive youth empowerment and discourage young people from falling victim to recruitment by violent extremist actors in neighboring Burkina Faso.

Community members, amid singing and dancing, expressed gratitude to Kacstone Records for the donation.
