Kpalinsa Assembly Member honours teachers with end-of-year appreciation programme

The Assembly Member for the Kpalinsa Electoral Area in the Builsa North Municipality, Thomas Agoalisui, has organised an end-of-year appreciation programme for teachers serving in the electoral area in recognition of their dedication and invaluable contribution to education.

The event, held at the Kpalinsa Primary School on Wednesday, July 22, was supported by the area’s three divisional chiefs, queen mothers and members of the community.

It brought together teachers and National Service personnel from Kpalinsa and Tankansa public schools to celebrate the successful completion of the 2025/2026 academic year and strengthen the relationship between educators and the communities they serve.

In his welcome address, Agoalisui commended the teachers for their unwavering commitment and resilience despite the numerous challenges confronting education in the area, including inadequate classroom infrastructure, poor road networks, lack of electricity, weak telecommunications services and insufficient accommodation.

He described teachers as the backbone of every society, emphasizing that their role in shaping the future of children and the nation’s development cannot be overstated.

“Your dedication to educating our children, even under difficult circumstances, deserves recognition, appreciation and continuous support,” he said.

Agoalisui assured the teachers of his commitment to advocating improved school infrastructure and better welfare for educators through the Builsa North Municipal Assembly and other development partners.

Speaking on behalf of the three divisional chiefs, the Chief of Zuedema, Nab Ayinagma Anaab, said the initiative formed part of the communities’ efforts to motivate teachers and improve teaching and learning in the electoral area.

He expressed concern over the shortage of teachers in the area and appealed to the Builsa North Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service to deploy more teachers to schools within the electoral area to enhance educational outcomes.

Other traditional leaders and community representatives also commended the teachers for their sacrifices and encouraged them to remain committed to nurturing the next generation despite the challenges associated with serving in rural communities.

The teachers expressed profound appreciation to Agoalisui, the traditional authorities and the communities for recognising their efforts, describing the gesture as timely and motivating.

They said such acts of appreciation boost morale and inspire teachers to continue giving their best.

While thanking the Assembly Member, the teachers appealed for sustained support to address transportation and accommodation challenges, as well as the provision of adequate teaching and learning materials.

They also commended Agoalisui for his consistent engagement with schools and his unwavering commitment to improving education in the Kpalinsa Electoral Area.
