MASLOC CEO visits Kassena-Nankana Municipality, pledges support for local economic development
The visit was prompted by an invitation from the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Faustina Akeyeom Abulu, as part of efforts to foster strategic partnerships aimed at boosting local economic growth.
The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Abigail Akwambea Elorm Mensah, has reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting grassroots entrepreneurship following a working visit to the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, June 25.
The visit was prompted by an invitation from the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Faustina Akeyeom Abulu, as part of efforts to foster strategic partnerships aimed at boosting local economic growth.
During the meeting, the MCE underscored the economic potential of the municipality and advocated for the establishment of a MASLOC Zonal Centre in Navrongo to expand access to financial resources for small businesses, particularly those led by women and youth.
“The development of youth and women is a priority for us. Having a MASLOC Zonal Centre here will strengthen business initiatives through accessible loan support.” said Abulu. “
In her response, MASLOC CEO Abigail Mensah lauded the municipality’s proactive approach and pledged to work closely with local authorities to align the Centre’s operations with the area’s development agenda.
She expressed strong interest in the proposal and assured stakeholders of her readiness to facilitate the establishment of the Zonal Office.
The visit concluded with a tour of selected small businesses in the area, as the MASLOC team assessed potential areas for intervention.
MASLOC continues to play a vital role in Ghana’s financial inclusion strategy, offering microloans to individuals and small enterprises to promote economic empowerment and poverty reduction.
