Minority fast becoming a distractive force – NDC’s Ateiweh Tigura

Tigura dismissed the allegations as baseless and argued that they serve only as a distraction from the real issues facing the country.

Ateiweh Tigura, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team in the Navrongo Central Constituency, has sharply criticized the Minority in Parliament, describing their recent actions as increasingly distracting to Ghana’s political landscape.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Friday, Tigura condemned the Minority’s recent petition to three investigative bodies calling for a probe into a dollar gift saga involving Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board.

“I think the Minority is fast becoming a distractive force in the Ghanaian political space. This whole petition is much ado about nothing,” he stated.

Tigura dismissed the allegations as baseless and argued that they serve only as a distraction from the real issues facing the country. He warned that launching investigations into unfounded claims wastes limited state resources and shifts attention from matters of national importance.

“A responsible Minority should not be going down this tangent. Remember, if you are going to investigate a matter of this sort, resources will be expended. Shouldn’t we focus on issues that touch on the bread-and-butter needs of the nation?” he questioned.

He further suggested that the Minority’s actions are a deliberate attempt to derail the progress being made under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, adding that the NDC government remains committed to its development agenda.

“The NDC government led by President Mahama remains focused on progress and will not be distracted by the Minority or anyone else,” Tigura affirmed.
