Mighty Warriors Sporting Club, a third division club based in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality, has defeated Mission Warriors, a Division Two club also from Navrongo, to claim bragging rights over the name “Warriors” and lifted the maiden trophy of the Divisional Pre-season Invitational Tournament held in Paga on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
The tournament was organized by Kacstone Records to help teams in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality and West District prepare for the upcoming Upper East Regional Division Two and Division Three leagues, which are set to kick off at the end of this month and early next month, respectively.
Mighty Warriors were not originally part of the tournament but were invited just two days before the start, following the withdrawal of another club.
The head coach of Mighty Warriors, Sekem Mashawudu, said the win serves as a major boost for the team ahead of the upcoming Division Three League season.
“This is part of our preparation for the Division Three League, and beating Mission Warriors in the final to win the trophy means a lot to us. This will motivate us to qualify for Division Two,” he stated.
