NDC’s reset agenda is a deception to Ghanaians – Daniel Agengre

Agengre accused the NDC government of failing to fulfill key promises it made before coming into office, particularly its pledge to create jobs through the 24-hour economy initiative.

A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Upper East Regional Communications Team, Daniel Agengre, has lashed out at the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, describing its much-touted “reset agenda” as a deception to the Ghanaian people.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Friday, October 17, Agengre accused the NDC government of failing to fulfill key promises it made before coming into office, particularly its pledge to create jobs through the 24-hour economy initiative.

“So all these things came to deceive us of a certain reset. Young people believed and gave you massive endorsement. After NDC won, everyone was jubilating, calling the victory a second independence. Now, this so-called second independence has come to sack people who were employed. How do you think the young person hoping to get a job will feel about this government?” He questioned.

Agengre also criticized President John Dramani Mahama’s handling of illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, saying the administration has failed to take decisive action despite repeated commitments.

“The NDC government has turned Ghana into a comic scene. Everything is done for optics, not reality, just for the cameras. The NDC won these elections primarily on job creation, the fight against galamsey, and the economy. In the president’s 120-day social contract, he said he would ban all forms of illegal mining. Check the state of galamsey now. Many are calling for a state of emergency, has he done it?” He argued.

The NPP communicator further accused the government of backtracking on its proposed interventions to address illegal mining, warning that continued inaction could have dire consequences for both human lives and the environment.

He therefore urged the NDC administration to act swiftly to tackle the menace and restore public confidence in its governance and rallied Ghanaians to remain vigilant and hold the NDC government accountable for its promises.
