NPP’s Yɛn Suro Ahunahuna Demo was a popularity test – NDC Communicator
Apolala argued that the allegations made by the NPP were unjustified, stressing that the cited cases involved independent investigations carried out by legitimate state agencies.
A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Godfred Apolala, has downplayed the significance of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Yɛnsuro Ahunahuna demonstration, describing it as an attempt by the opposition party’s youth wing to test its popularity.
On Tuesday, September 23, the NPP youth wing, led by the party’s National Youth Wing, staged a protest against what they described as selective targeting and harassment of their members by state institutions.
However, speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday September 24, Apolala dismissed the protest as lacking substance and purpose.
“So yesterday, their so-called National Youth Organizer, who has failed in many dimensions, organized that demonstration. He has failed as a youth organizer and was only trying to resurrect his dead career.”
“The demonstration had no substance, they only bussed people to fill the streets and make noise.”
Apolala further argued that the allegations made by the NPP were unjustified, stressing that the cited cases involved independent investigations carried out by legitimate state agencies.
The Yɛn Suro Ahunahuna demonstration attracted a section of NPP youth and sympathizers, who accused the government of using state institutions to intimidate opposition members.
