Paga Youth Movement supports Upper East Regional passport office project with Ghc5,000

The passport office, which will officially open on October 23, 2025, is part of a broader initiative by the Alangumgube Group to decentralise passport acquisition services.

The Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM) has donated 5,000 cedis to the Alangumgube Group, a volunteer-led development organization spearheading the establishment of the Upper East Regional passport office in Bolgatanga.

The presentation took place at the yet-to-be-opened passport office in Bolgatanga on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, as a gesture of appreciation and solidarity for the group’s efforts to bring passport services closer to residents of the region.

The passport office, which will officially open on October 23, 2025, is part of a broader initiative by the Alangumgube Group to decentralise passport acquisition services.

The facility has been renovated and equipped through the collaboration of the group, local assemblies, and private citizens, in a move expected to reduce the long travel residents often endure to Tamale, Wa, or Accra for basic passport services.

Speaking at the donation, the Chairman of the Paga Youth Movement, Duriyem Wenawome Aborah, said the contribution is to support the completion of the project, particularly the construction of a pavilion for vehicle parking.

“On behalf of the Paga Youth Movement, we donate this token of GHS 5,000 for the establishment of the passport office in Bolgatanga because we believe this project is for the region. We all have to put our hands on deck to let it flourish and serve the purpose it is intended to serve,” he said.

Wenawome Aborah said the contribution is to support the completion of the project.

Receiving the donation, the Chairman of the Alangumgube Group, Gabriel Agambila, expressed gratitude for the support and pledged stronger collaboration between the two groups to drive regional development.

“On behalf of Alangumgube, we want to say thank you for this big support you’ve given us. We are not taking it for granted, and we are going to collaborate with the Paga Youth Association to bring development to the region,” he said.

The group’s vice secretary added that, “It’s a good cause that the Paga Youth are extending to Alangumgube, and our symbol is togetherness. When we come together, we’ll be able to champion development in the region, and we truly appreciate this kind gesture.”
