Robert Aloo calls for unity towards 2028 electoral victory for the NPP

Aloo said the immediate priority of the NPP is to secure a majority in Parliament and ensure that its presidential candidate wins outright in 2028.

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Chiana-Paga Constituency, Robert Aloo, has underscored the party’s focus on winning power in the 2028 general elections, stressing that collective success must come before individual ambition.

Aloo made the remarks on Friday, January 31, 2026, during the NPP Presidential Primary of the Chiana-Paga Constituency held at the Paga Junior High School (JHS).

Aloo said the immediate priority of the NPP is to secure a majority in Parliament and ensure that its presidential candidate wins outright in 2028.

“Our interest is to win the majority of seats in Parliament in 2028. Our interest is to make sure that our elected presidential candidate for the 2028 elections secures 50 plus one majority to form government in January 2029.” He stated.

While acknowledging public interest in his own political future, Aloo noted that any decision about contesting in future elections remains personal and secondary to the party’s broader goals.

“But as to whether I will contest or not, that is my interest. We are now working for the collective interest and that is what is important.”

The NPP Presidential Primary formed part of the party’s internal processes aimed at selecting a flagbearer and strengthening grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2028 polls.
