Bishop Agyenta urges Navrongo-Bolgatanga Commandery of Knights and Ladies of St John’s International to be signs of hope
Bishop Agyenta reminded members of the Noble Order’s mission of continuing the mission of Jesus Christ through acts of charity and fraternity.

The Catholic Bishop of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Diocese, Most Reverend Alfred Agyenta, has admonished members of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Grand Commandery of the Noble Order of Knights of St John International and Ladies Auxiliary to be signs of hope for a nation in despair.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 1st Biennial Grand Convention at the CK Tedem University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Navrongo on Friday, August 22, Bishop Agyenta reminded members of the Noble Order’s mission of continuing the mission of Jesus Christ through acts of charity and fraternity.
“The Order as a service organisation is to serve the Church, Communities and its brothers and sisters; the Order is also regimented to serve the King Jesus Christ.”
“The trademark of the noble order of the Knights of St. John’s International is service, discipline and fraternal charity.” Bishop Agyenta added.

Addressing the theme for the convention, “Knights of St John International and Ladies Auxiliary; Pilgrims of Hope in the Jubilee Year.” Bishop Agenda emphasised the need for members of the Noble Order to be a light of hope for all.”
“When you look around the world, there is so much that one can say our world is in darkness- the wars, the degradation of the environment, the amount of hatred and killing, the level of corruption, to the extent that power is growing, can make people lose courage and hope and despair.
“That is why Pope Francis has called us to renew our own hopes and be signs of hope for others.”
He further called on Christians to be a source of encouragement for others in society, particularly in times of uncertainty, with a hope of a better afterlife.

The 7th District Commander of the Order, Major Amos Ayuure Esq, in his welcome address, called for the sharing of God’s love to rekindle hope in society.
“The jubilee year encourages individuals to be signs of hope by putting Catholic social teachings into action, especially in the renewal of hope and trust and promoting fraternity and care for creation by offering a message of God’s love to all.” Ayuure said.

The convention hosted by the 7th District and District 2 will run until Sunday, August 22, where members will engage in spiritual reflection and fraternal activities geared towards the growth of the commandery and achieving its mandate.

The Navrongo-Bolgatanga Grand is made up of 3 District Battalions comprising 12 Commanderies of Brothers and 2 Auxiliary Districts comprising 8 auxiliaries with Brigadier General Joseph Weguri Pwoawuvi as Grand Commander and Noble Sister Magdalene Akeriwe as the Respected President of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Grand Ladies Auxiliary.
