Four former students of Paga Senior High School have received a major boost in their academic journey as philanthropist and lecturer, Dr. Duut Nangpaak, fulfilled a pledge to support their transition to tertiary education by reimbursing their application and processing fees of GHC 200 each after gaining admission in 2025 to pursue Graphic Design at Bolgatanga Technical University.
The gesture forms part of a promise he made in 2024 during an earlier visit, where he encouraged students to take a serious interest in visual arts, particularly graphic design.
According to Dr. Nangpaak, the initiative was inspired by the passion and potential he observed among the students.
“I saw a lot of interest among them, demonstrated through their work, and I felt it was important to institute something that would give them hope that their efforts can lead to employment one day.” He said.

He explained that his pledge targeted five students who would gain admission to pursue Diploma, Higher National Diploma, or Degree programmes in Graphic Design, with a commitment to cover their application and processing fees.
“This gesture is to open up opportunities for potential students and also serve as a starting point for other philanthropists to support the needy.” He added.
The Senior House Master of the school, Ibrahim Bagna, expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Nangpaak, describing the support as a significant relief to students and their families.
“We are very delighted to receive Dr. Duut for this kind gesture. It is not easy for many students to raise funds to purchase application forms, so reimbursing them is a huge relief.” He stated.

One of the beneficiaries, Wonnotrah Samuel Tantogiwe, who is currently studying Industrial Art (Graphic Design) at Bolgatanga Technical University, expressed appreciation for the support.
“We are very happy. It is not easy raising money to buy application forms, so this support is a big relief to us.” He said.
Other beneficiaries of the gesture include Songoti Magdalene Wemanga, Inusah Safiatu Awewura, and Asagipiu Roland studying the same programme at the university.
