Isaac Adongo secures two additional tractors to boost dry-season farming in Bolgatanga Central

The latest intervention brings the total number of tractors secured by Isaac Adongo to six, with the equipment expected to support dry-season production of tomatoes, pepper and other crops.

Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has secured two additional tractors to support farming activities in the constituency, particularly during the dry season.

The latest acquisition brings to six the total number of tractors provided through the MP’s agricultural interventions, strengthening access to mechanised farming services for farmers across the constituency.

The newly acquired tractors are expected to support the cultivation of tomatoes, pepper and other crops during the dry season. The intervention is aimed at increasing food production, reducing seasonal shortages and enabling farmers to achieve higher yields throughout the year.

The initiative forms part of Adongo’s broader grassroots integrated agriculture project, which has already provided farmers with fertiliser, free tractor-ploughing services and other essential agricultural inputs.

Through the continued investment in mechanisation and farm inputs, the MP seeks to position Bolgatanga Central as a major food-producing area in the Upper East Region while creating sustainable economic opportunities for young people, women and vulnerable groups.

According to Aboyom Job the Communication Officer for Bolgatanga Central, the interventions are anchored on a vision of building resilient livelihoods and making agriculture a stronger driver of socio-economic development in the constituency.

He said the provision of additional tractors would help address some of the challenges farmers face in accessing mechanised services, particularly during the dry season, and contribute to improved household incomes and community resilience.

The latest intervention is expected to further expand access to mechanised farming services and support farmers to sustain production beyond the main farming season.
